ASHLEY TISDALE SHOWS CHEERLEADERS HOW TO “BE STRONG” FOR A CHANCE TO STAR IN A NATIONAL MILK MUSTACHE AD
Actress and Singer Shows Cheer Squads
How Lowfat Chocolate Milk Can Help Them Rebound After a Long Workout
LOS ANGELES (August 31, 2011) – Refueling with lowfat chocolate milk after a tough routine can give you and your squad another reason to cheer. Actress, singer and former TV cheerleader, Ashley Tisdale, has partnered with the National Milk Mustache “got milk?”® Campaign and American Cheerleader magazine, to launch the “Be Strong” Challenge. The exciting new program highlights how lowfat chocolate milk can help cheerleaders refuel and replenish after a tough practice or routine and help them “Be Strong” for the next workout or competition.
As part of the new program, Ashley is challenging cheer squads across the country to show how they can “Be Strong” by refueling with chocolate milk. Squads can simply log on to AmericanCheerleader.com/BeStrong and submit a custom cheer video that shows how refueling with chocolate milk makes them strong along with a brief introduction of their team.
Teens will vote on the strongest squad, and for every vote $1 will go to Cheer for a Cure. The winning squad will receive $5,000 and an opportunity of a lifetime to star in a Milk Mustache ad in American Cheerleadermagazine.
Leaping Into Milk Mustache History
Ashley soared into the iconic Milk Mustache campaign while shooting the latest got milk? ad. The ad, which features her in a cheerleading uniform, encourages teens to refuel with lowfat chocolate milk after a strenuous workout to help recover and rebound in activities they love – especially cheerleading. Ashley was a cheerleader in high school and college and played a feisty and intense cheerleading captain on the small screen. She knows first-hand how tough cheering can be and knows the importance of helping your body recharge post-workout. Ashley’s ad copy reads: “R-E-Charge! See why Ashley Tisdale thinks milk is worth cheering for at RefuelWithChocolateMilk.com.”
“Staying active and making the right food choices has helped me be strong and confident inside and out,” said Ashley. “I am thrilled about my new Milk Mustache ad and want to cheer on squads across the country to also “Be Strong” and refuel with chocolate milk after a tough practice.”
R-E-Charge Even Those Spirit Fingers
Flips, stunts and pyramids can take a toll on your muscles and body. Refueling and replenishing after strenuous exercise with fluids, electrolytes and the right mix of carbs and protein is key to helping it recover so you can “Be Strong” -- especially when another practice, game or competition is less than 24 hours away.
Lowfat chocolate milk naturally has many of the nutrients most commercial recovery drinks have to add in the lab – including high-quality protein and key electrolytes like calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium. And, it’s a great-tasting, affordable alternative to expensive protein powders and recovery drinks – it’s likely already in your refrigerator at home.
Plus, being active, making good food choices and drinking lowfat or fat free milk can help you look lean and strong on the outside and feel confident and strong on the inside. Now that is something to cheer about!
